HAPPY BIKE RIDE “VELO SYMPA”
For a first time discovery
2 hours
Departure from the Vaulieu garden in Sallertaine. Your guide will take you along the former shores of the island of Sallertaine before reaching the heart of the marsh, what used to be the ocean. The environment is a surprising discovery and, while you cycle on a former dike, the panorama will reveal the beauty of the wind blowing through the soft brown rushes, the winding tree roots drowned and dried according to the seasons, the quietness and sweetness of a 1000-year old man-made landscape.
Further inland, traditional low houses recall the old 19C days. On the way back, cycling on the former shore on the edge of the woodland countryside, offers an interesting vantage point over the island of Sallertaine.
